Feeling bad for Hillary

Wow this is a bad two days of Hillary Clinton. From Politico.com it sounds as though she compared herself to LBJ and Obama to Dr. King, Jr., and then said it was LBJ who actually got the job done. King was the talker but it took a president to execute the change. In what group will it sell to denigrate Martin Luther King, Jr. two weeks before his holiday? I'll look at the footage when the interview actually airs sometime today. I expect this one will make it to youtube.

Her backers are facing the shift from inevitable to the one two punch of the Iowa loss and the double digit polls against her. There is talk of a civil war among her top supporters. Drudge lead this morning with the campaign being overcome by talk of Hillary dropping out in the immediate future (he later took that one down.) She teared up and her voice choked in a touching, but still troubling moment on the trail today. Her husband has twice said that he "can't make her taller, or younger or male." That seems to be the apology for why he can't help her campaign, rather than an attempt to improve her reception.

I want Obama to win the nomination. I do not, though, want to see our first viable female candidate for the presidency go down this way. I feel badly for her. I feel badly for the nation if she doesn't do better at weathering this storm.
