Tracy and I are interested in getting Iphones. They look pretty cool. My plan doesn't end until next week so I am just reading up on them.

and tonight Tracy bought hers. I'm typing this on her phone.

What is our family coming to? I just got my first Ipod. I have bravely resisted the temptation for years - risking social alienation in the process. But now I can no longer smugly deflect all claims that I am a yuppie techno geek.
p.s. the new nano rules, but it is only 1/5th as yuppie-geeky as the iphone. Thus I retain a note of smug.

I am fully immersed in geeky. I have heard good things about the shuffle. Sounds like its cool to shake it to make it shuffle.

Nice... We don't get 3G coverage up here in the boonies, but I have been seriously thinking about getting the iPhones' less connected cousin, the iPod touch. Still got more than a year left on my current contract anyway...

We don't have 3g here yet, but it is supposed to be coming in the next few months. Even without it, the edge is good enough for me when I am between wifi spots. The transition from the edge to wifi was fantastic. I am very impressed with that feature.

With my Googlephone, arriving next week, I will out-geek you all.

Yes I will be very interested to hear more about the google phone. I am a proponent, and I hope it does well. I think it could also shake up the cell industry in favor of the customer, and I am all in favor of that.

Googlephone may not completely trump the geek factor of the IPhone. Remember, John McCain uses, "The Googles" albeit just for maps.
I got my IPhone 3G in the second shipment. I love it in all areas of operation. I carry a number of EBooks including my NIV Study Bible, hundreds of tunes, thousands of photos, several films, videos and TV shows, and a few games. Still the best function is its amazingly fast and smooth internet access. We do have 3G here in civilization, and the seamless integration of that and the automatic Wi-Fi where available is amazing.
The only downside was that there wasn't an easy way to sync my 400+ contact database from my Treo.

The folks at the ATT store could have done this for you with their data cable system. They put all of Tracy's hospital directory on her iphone from her us cellular phone. Their little transfer computer can transfer just about any phone contacts to your iphone. I don't know if they can do that after you've added contacts of your own. They use it to start new phone accounts.

Hmmm. The folks at our store didn't mention that option. Of course I didn't ask, assuming that I could just sync the data from my Treo directly. Frankly I wouldn't mind reentering any of the newer data not in my old Treo database. Thanks for the idea.

I hope they will do it for you. Glad I could help.
